Jaipur Living Custom Platform Rug Display
Displaying large area rugs in a showroom presents a unique merchandising challenge. The display needs to give customers an opportunity to appreciate the scale, color and design of each rug while keeping multiple products organized and visually appealing.
For Jaipur Living, GAVI Point of Purchase produced a custom platform rug display designed to showcase very large rugs alongside smaller complementary rugs in one cohesive showroom presentation.
Installed in Jaipur Living’s showroom in spring 2025, the finished display combines practical rug merchandising with a distinctive architectural design that creates a focal point within the showroom.
A Custom Display Designed Around Large Rugs
Traditional retail displays aren’t always well suited for merchandising large rugs. Their size can make displaying multiple designs within the same area difficult without overwhelming the showroom.
The Jaipur Living platform display provides multiple elevated surfaces that allow large and smaller complementary rugs to be presented together.
Rather than viewing individual rugs completely independently, customers can see different sizes and designs within a coordinated presentation. This helps create a more visually engaging way to explore the products while maintaining an organized showroom environment.
A Distinctive Tambour and Wave Design
One of the most recognizable elements of the display is its custom tambour top.
The surface incorporates a series of flowing, wave-like forms that allow rugs to be draped and displayed at different elevations. The design adds visual movement while creating multiple presentation areas across the display.
The result is a structure that functions as both a merchandising fixture and a sculptural element within the Jaipur Living showroom.
Its furniture-inspired appearance was designed to complement the premium showroom environment rather than look like a conventional retail rack.
